We just spent the past 9 days visiting Bryce Canyon National Park and then onto Zion National Park. To say this area is beautiful would be a major understatement! There are not words to describe how spectacular this area is! We almost decided to skip Bryce due to some plunging temperatures but that would have been a Hugh mistake!

We camped at Kodachrome Basin State Park. It was remote but very beautiful and quiet! The night skies were dark and great for stargazing. It was cold and there were several mornings we woke up to temps in the 20s! We even saw a little bit of snow!

SNOW!

Bryce Canyon has a beautiful drive through the park with many stops along the way to just enjoy the beauty or take a hike. Every turnout offered a different view! And they were all just breathtaking. It was windy and cold so our stops out of the heated car were short!

On our last day in that area we drove a long and bumpy dirt road out to see a beautiful natural arch formed in the rocks. Short hike in and we had it all to ourselves. Scooby enjoyed being off leash and cracked us up with his roadrunner moves!

After leaving Bryce Canyon NP we headed south to much warmer temps at Zion National Park. Most days were in the 80's! We totally fell in love with this area. We had originally booked 2 nights and ended up staying 6! We stayed at Zion Canyon Campground right outside the gate to the park and in Springdale, UT a super fun town to walk around. And our view was beautiful from our campsite!

We were there over Halloween and had so much fun watching the families walk around with their children.

Zion only allows you to take one of their shuttles, walk or ride a bike into the park. The shuttle tickets are pre-sold and very difficult to get since bus capacity is limited due to Covid. We decided to rent electric bikes and ride in on the 7 mile road to view the park. Almost all uphill on the way in which made having the e-bikes pretty amazing. On the way back you pretty much pray you have good breaks since it is all downhill! I had trouble remembering to focus on the road as the scenery was just so gorgeous! Thank goodness for all the pull offs to just be able to stop and take it all in.

And check out these rock climbers!! I could NEVER do this but sure was fun to watch!

Look for red circles!

After a long day we found a great brewery!

The other days just flew by with nice drives in the area, walking around the cute town and also just "chores" like doing some laundry! We finally decided to tear ourselves away from this amazing area and continue our journey south with our eventual destination of San Diego. Our next stop will be Lake Mead just outside of Las Vegas. .
