We bolted out of Memphis early to avoid Hurricane Delta and found ourselves scrambling to secure another location and campsite for a few days. Boy did we hit the jackpot with Piney Bay Campground near London, Arkansas.

We were looking for a few down days to just relax and process all that had transpired the past few weeks and Bob had a few projects on the RV he was wanting to work on. Our site was so private and quite that we felt we had the entire campground to oursleves. Scooby could run around and play without having to be on a leash. He seemed to spend most of his time in the water!

As mentioned, Bob had a few projects to work on. First one was instaling a new sink into our bathroom....replacing the boring/generic white one with this beautiful copper sink he speical ordered. Previously he had added the backsplash, new mirror, and new light fixture! It’s transformed our bathroom!

We sure are enjoying having our jeep, we nicknamed "Snotz" to go along with our RV named "Cousin Eddy". (If you don't get the names you need to watch the movie Christmas Vacation) We have never towed a vehicle before but it has opened up so many more options of sightseeing or just a quick trip to the grocery store (Lise) or multiple trips to the hardware store (Bob). One day we took a long drive on the Ozark Highlands Scenic Byway While very beautiful and some fall foliage showing it really isn't "mountains" like we are used to in North Carolina!

Bob took out the back seat of the jeep (to create more space and reduce towing weight) so he had to build a special seat for Scooby. We call it "King Scooby's Throne". He seems to really enjoy it.

Cooking dinner outside is pretty fun! Love my new Instapot for quick meals after a day of sightseeing!

These 4 days of just relaxing and not having an agenda has really helped it to sink in that we are now retired. After so many years of working it is hard to really understand all that this new chapter in our lives will entail. At times I've felt anxious about all the changes, but days like we had here sure help to relieve any fears!

Our next stop will be in Oklahoma where we plan to spend some time "getting our kicks on Route 66"!
P.S. Nice bathroom!! Good job Bob!!!
Such a beautiful place! So envious (not jealous) and looking forward to following in your footsteps one day!!
